Fixture: Under 9s - Rangers vs. Mount Nod

Man of the Match: Logan Wilkinson
OMG what a fab game ! The boys were all over them right from the start, lots of man marking and good, strong tackles. All the boys were definatly up for it, after a great `team-building` day at Richards house!
Logan made a fantastic run from one end of the pitch to the other, with lots of dribbling and `dummies` he got right in front of their goal and made a fab pass to Kai making our first goal of the match !! (and Kai's first goal for a while) Great team work ! Adam then worked hard and got our second goal and the match just got better and better ! With lots of great passes the boys got into their groove and Morgs had his first goal for a while then too !! We ended the first half 3-0 up, with numerous other missed chances and Mount Nod hardly seeing our goal at all ! Some fab defending by Sam and Logan meant Chris `the steamroller` goalie didnt need to do much - just keep warm ! Into the 2nd half and both Morgs and Kai got their second goals each. Brendan making some great runs and tackling well, then led to some great passing and a near-miss from him - Keep trying though Bren!! With more skillful play and teamwork between Brendan and Ciaran, we then got our sixth goal with Ciaran putting it into the back of the net ! With Cameron doing some `interesting` manoeuvres on the pitch (LOL)and then doing some great cover in goal - the whole team were excellent !! Keep it up boys :)

Well it was a really frustrating game today as our boys played really well but sadly the goals just werent coming. We dominated the first half with most of the play in the oppositions half. With roughly 4-5 shots on target it was driving us mad that they just werent going in. We went 2 down in the first half. We came out fighting and again played well but sadly it just wasnt to be our day and the game ended 3-0 to them. Keep your chins up boys - you all played well the ball just wasnt hitting the back of the net.
Cameron played a good game today, in defence, keep it up Cam !

Well the boys made a good start back, after a long break and no training! They worked well and played hard although Southam managed to get 1 goal ahead. Then, with some persistance (and a bit of luck!) Ciaran got a great goal from a corner kick and we were off ! Soon after, Cameron did a great kick and got us our second goal (after lots of our team seemed to dance around the ball but not actaully score! LOL) Unfortunately Southam did manage to also get a second one passed us, but altogether a good game by both sides. Excellent play by Sam our Man of the Match - woo hoo ! so keep it up !

Well we wanted to win this one badly today and came out fighting from the start ! With lots of man-marking and some fantastic passing we were on our way...we didnt leave GNP any room for manoever and dominated the first half, leading to a great goal from Adam from a corner kick and then our second goal from Chris, not far from the half-way line. We kept in their faces in the second half, even with some `interesting` referee decisions that could only be described in Rich's words as `shocking!` (nice one Rich - LOL) and went on to win the match ! Some great play from all the boys and our MOTM - Logan, who ran end to end of the pitch for the whole game, not letting anyone past, and with Sam now really filling his role in defence too - we were on to a winner ! Cameron played a great part in Goal and never let one in - well done Cam ! Now a well deserved rest until the new year !

Man of the Match: Adam Middleton
Well, we wanted some revenge this week and we got it ! The boys played extremely well and we took control of the game very early on. The boys called for the ball and did some fantastic passes, looking up and making great use of space. Some great little runs from one end of the pitch to the other with confidence and precision. Adam took us into an early lead with a fab early goal and it just got better and better ! I think Adam was on `E` numbers this week, playing one of his best matches. He listened, payed attention and kept battling hard to win the ball - his tackles were great and as proof of his great play - he scored another goal ! In the second half we played Morgs in goal and bought Chris out into centre mid. I think he played more of the match in his socks though as he shoes kept coming off!! But even through this he scored a great 3rd goal with an amazing header !! Yes HEADER and SCORED !!! What a corker ! He then went on to lose his shoes again and then score the 4th goal !! (is there something in that !?!) The whole team played with the fire and spark that they've always had - it just went a bit cold for a while. Great play by Sam this week too - MOTM was a hard decision ! Keep it up boys - Pizza Night is coming !!!!

Well, we played well today but sadly it just wasnt quite enough. Adam, Chris and Logan were all given man of the match today !! A brilliant Coaches decision to swap some of the boys around - Adam into defence (as he wanted !) Morgs to cover goalie (as he wanted !) and Chris to stretch his legs !! (also wanted ! LOL) and boy did those legs stretch !!! Chris stormed through several players but just missed out on a goal at the last minute. Adam was great and listened !!! HOORAY !! (ha ha) and Morgs made some fantastic saves whilst in goal ! Some great passes from ALL the boys - lots of looking and passing well...we WILL get the FIRE back again boys just keep trying !!! We love you all !!!! (you know what I mean Kai !! ha ha)

I think the boys went into this match `expecting` a win and thats NEVER the way to play football...you ALWAYS have to fight hard and play hard for every match, regardless of who you are playing and I think the boys casual attitude cost them the game, sadly. Adam did a great job with the 1 goal but the Jags goals should never have got passed us in the first place. Sad but true. Fingers crossed for a better game next time.

Well, the boys didnt seem with it today and sadly this was reflected in most of todays match. We weren't tackling or following up on alot of the challenges, or talking to each other, so in the first half we went 1-0 down. We came back into the second half with a bit more about us, but unfortunatly allowed 2 other silly goals past our boys. Never to give up though - with just 10 minutes left to the end of the game, some beautiful work with Kai and Brendon finishing with our first goal ! This boosted the boys no-end and as a result Kai came back with a 2nd goal with just a few minutes left. We raced to try and get one more goal to at least end in a draw but sadly the whistle beat us to it. Hopefully the boys will be back next week with the `fire` from Firefighters that earn't us our name !

Well, the boys knew we had to win this match to stay in with a chance of winning the league - and boy did they come out fighting !!! We were all over them from the first blow of the whistle. Every player played exceptionally well, great passes, great thought in what they were doing and the passion to win !!! We should have scored more but we were just inches from the goal-line ! A brilliant goal from Kai gave us an early lead and with lots of tackling and the boys consistently staying in Stratfords `faces` we held on to win the match !! Fabulous football from all the boys and particularly great work from Cameron who won MOTM !!FANTASTIC GAME BOYS! Keep this up and we`ll win the league ! Woo Hoo !!!
