Fixture: Under 13s - Juniors vs. Alvis

A game that we should not have been having to replay due to the first game, which we were clearly winning, being stopped 10 minutes from the end when Jack broke his arm but….
5 Minutes in and Firefighters get a corner, a lot of scrabbling near the goal but the goalie eventually picks it up. 7 Minutes in and another corner to FF. End to end play and Charlie makes a save on the edge of the box. 13 minutes in and FF hit the post. Some brilliant defending from George. 14 minutes in and we get out first break with a goal from Will 1-0. 10 minutes of end to end play. Alvis are in on goal but their player had a collision with Charlie but he never let go of the ball, well done Charlie. A long range shot from Jag, just wide of the goal. Another great save from Charlie 34 minutes in.
2 Minutes in to Second half, a long range shot from Leo this time which looped over the goalie 2-0, not sure about the little dance from Leo to celebrate his goal, I think he needs to work on his moves. Jag hits the post but Leo sneaks in on the rebound 3-0. Alex takes a corner & Jag knocks it in 4-0. A great Charlie saves again on the edge of the box. A lovely cross from Callum. Long range shot from Alvis just wide of the goal. Corner from Reece and the ball is headed in by Alex 5-0. Callum tricks round the defender and hits the bar. A shot over the bar from Alvis. Charlie makes a diving save.
Final whistle 5-0. A great game from All the lads well played.

3 minutes in and Charlie makes a good save. Christ the King put the pressure on forcing Charlie to make another great save. 15 mins in and its 0-1 fo CTK. An apparent push from George to a CTK player results in a penalty which they score 0-2. A corner to firefighters but it goes over the bar.
2nd half, a shot from Callum tipped over the bar. A long shot from Jack 10 mins in goes wide. A free kick awarded to Leo but the keeper saves it. Firefighters are battling back not letting the pressure get to them. CTK take a long range shot but once againb Charlie save it receiving praise from from both teams. 20 mins in and CTK score again 0-3. A corner to FF taken by Jag out to Jack who put it in the net 1-3. A good game from all the lads today. Great effort.

A much nicer day for football today than last week!! But our first loss at Home
4 Mins in & Firefighters get the first corner. Charlie makes a great save, then Alex clears the rebound shot. 15 Minutes in & Rugby get a Penalty for pushing?? 0-1 to Rugby. Closely followed by a second goal 0-2. Rugby make a pass back from their defender to the goalie, Firefighters should have had a penalty but it is not given. A corner to rugby, they head the ball in to make it 0-3. Conor makes a good tackle George clears the ball sending it out for a corner to Rugby. Ales to Jag to Callum to Jack who takes a shot but it goes wide.
2nd half another shot from Jack but cleared off the line by the goalie. 10 minutes in & another goal for Rugby 0-4. Corner to Firefighters, Leo takes it to Jack & he scores 1-4. Another corner and another goal to FF 2-4. A fantastic save from Charlie keeps us in the game. Free kick to Rugby who make it 2-5. Another corner & Lucas shoots at the goalie nearly taking him down but he saves it. Jack has a one on one with the goalie but he gets tripped up. Pressure from FF now from Will, Danyaal, Luke & Matthew. Corner from Reece to Lucas who head the ball in 3-5, 20 minutes in. Rugby fights back and get another goal 3-6. Charlie makes a great diving save. Corner to FF but it’s cleared. End to end play, Leo hits the bar in almost the last kick of the game. Not the result we were hoping for but our heads are still high. Well done lads.

Not the best of days for a football match, absolutely freezing with rain / snow / sleet hammering down on us. Well done and a big thank you to the boys for turning up and playing and to the parents for coming to support. Play was end to end in the first half with Jack scoring to make it 1-0 at half time. Kept the break short so that the boys did not get too cold and kept them running around to keep warm until Pinley came back on.
Second half started with Pinley evening up 1-1. Both sides attacking but Pinley have another chance 2-1. Firefighters keep the pressure up and Callum scores from 20 yards out 2-2. Leo gets a shot from 30 yards and makes it 3-2. A bit of to & froing and Jack nicks another to make it 4-2. Another great combination with Danyaal, Lucas, Callum & Jag setting up Reece for another great goal 5-2. More hassling with Will & Reece to set Jack up for his hatrick 6-2. Poor Charlie was like Mr Frosty so we changed him for Leo who didn’t really have a great deal to do. George Alex & Conor did well in defence and Conor set off on a run three quarters of the length of the pitch to set up another attack, and as the ball was bouncing about Alex took it over the line 7-2.
An excellent result despite the weather, hope you have all managed to thaw out, well done.

Charlie makes a great save 7 mins in. Jack has a shot that goes slightly wide of the goal. Jag sustains an injury 15 minutes in and has to be taken off. Firefighters keep up the pressure. Alvis have a shot but its cleared off the line by Danyaal, Corner to Alvis. 2 great saves from Charlie but not so lucky with the 3rd 1-0 to Alvis. 2 minutes later & Callum make a lovely shot to even the game 1-1. Just before the half time whistle & Alvis almost score again from a free kick but it’s over the bar.
2nd Half, 4 mins in and Reece takes up ahead 2-1. Straight from kick off Alvis score again evening it up 2-2. 5 mins later and another goal for them 3-2. The play is end to end but no clear shots from either side. Alvis have another break and make it 4-2. 1st corner for Firefighters of 2nd half after 25 mins but no one to poke it in. Fantastic save from Charlie 27 mins in. Alvis score again 5-2 3 mins from end of the game. Final score 5-2, it all seemed to go wrong after Jag was injured, changed the shape of the game. Onwards and upwards boys.

Captain for today was Jack, his first full game back after breaking his arm. A very windy day. Finham dominated the first part of the game but our defence kept strong and did their job, as did Charlie as ever. Good battling from midfield Jag, Leo, Callum, Danyaal & Reece and Jack up front. Second half was better for FF we battled back & took the game to 2-1. Well done against the wind today a great job.

A bit of a shabby start to the match with Firefighters conceding 2 easy goals in the first 15 minutes. Callum takes a free kick but straight to the keepers hands. Some great runs and tackles from George. Lucas makes a break and scores only for it to be flagged offside. Charlie under pressure again makes a great save. A good run by Reece to Leo back to Reece who puts it over the post. Alex takes a corner which hits Reece's arm for a pinley free kick.
2nd half - Conor takes a free kick but the keeper saves the cross. Pinley win a corner, Charlie is down but Leo makes the save. Good run from Jag. Another free kick from Conor over the bar. Good defending from Fraser.Pinley break Charlie is down and Pinley score. Jack comes on for Lucas. Danyaal has a shot but saved by the keeper. Luke comes on for Fraser. Another corner to FF but went wide of the goal. Pinley finish the game with another goal 4-0.
Many thanks to the Referee for giving us approx 2 decisions all game, and for keeping us all waiting to start the second half in the freezing conditions whilst he drank his drink. Rest assured we will all be studying the rule book for the next time.

This weeks we were missing 3 players, Corey Owen & Jack is still out of action after breaking his wrist, we are hoping to have him back in the Squad very soon. We went a goal down within 5 minutes of kick off. we regrouped to take hold of the game with Charlie saving a shot and kicking the ball up to midfield to Jag to Leo, Danyaal and out to Lucas, up to Reece whos's shot was saved but he followed up to knock it in on the rebound 1-1. More battling from both teamsresulting with a goal kick from Conor to Alex to Lucas and an overlap from Alex to Jag Danyaal and Luke. Pressuring the Admirals goal with Lucas forcing the ball home 2-1 at half time. Second Half with lots of pressure from Admirals and stearn goalkeeping from Charlie but Admirals see a chance and take it 2-2. Both teams going grwat guns with Fraser & George defending well. Free kick to FF, Conor steps up put it in the box and it ends up in the net 3-2. Another Admirals attack with their player weaving through our defence and pokes the ball home 3-3. Reece amlost steals the game with a great chance after an attack from Callum, next time Reece. Another great performance all round boys.

Not a great start for us we went 1-0 down withing the first few minutes. A good cross from Owen that was saved by the keeper. 20 minutes in and a shot from Corey just over the bar. Firefighters put the pressure on. CTK take a corner cleared by Callum to Reece knocked to Corey who takes his chance and scores 1-1. CTK make a counter attack and score again 2-1.
Second half, a free kick to CTK tipped over the bar by Charlie. Another goal to CTK 3-1. Fraser has a chance but the keeper makes a good save. Charlie makes a sliding save. CTK on attack again making it 4-1. Jag takes a lovely shot in the back of the net from 25 yards out 4-2. CTK take a nother chance and make it 5-2. FF kick off and Corey wins the ball connecting with the goal 5-3. Corner to CTK who dont mess about and score a good goal 6-3. Final minutes of the game and CTK get a penalty and make it count 7-3.
Our second loss of the season, lets make it our last, a good effort from all the lads, lets get back to that winning streak we all enjoy.

A new manager for the game today, Ben Fahy as Rich was on a course (the golf course!!!!) Well done Ben for good leadership, the lads were impressed as you didnt shout at them as much as the other fella!!
A very nervy game with Firefighters going 1 goal down within the first 10 minutes, luckily a goal from Owen saw us equalize 1-1 at half time. Second half a goal from Jag took us 2-1 finally the lead we deserved. Firefighters had several shots on goal from a couple of players, us poor spectators could not stand the stress of it all. A third goal from Callum (finally finding the net) took to to a final score of 3-1. Charlie had a great game and certainly saved us a good few times keeping us in the game.Well done once again lads keep up the good work

A good strong start from Firefighters with a goal from Corey 12 minutes in 1-0. Bedworth have a shot saved by a header from Alex. Corner to Bedworth won by Firefighters. A dood save from Coreys shot then another shot saved taken by Reece's rebound. Bedworth attack with a shot saved by Charlie. Charlie makes another save brought about by sloppy centre defence. Conor to Owen, shoots but it is saved. Leo demonstrates good tackling. Free kick for Firefighters, Conor to Reece won by Corey who makes a great run to be shot out by keeper. George battles well in midfield. Lucas makes a good kick to Owen sending the ball out. Charlie makes another good save. Bedworth equalize 1-1 . Bedworth on the attack catch us out and score again 2-1. Corey's throw in to Jag to Alex to Reece who puts the ball out. Charlie with another great save. Corner for Bedworth kicked out by Jag. Free kick to Firefighters, good run from Corey just missing the target. Corey scores after a great run 2-2 taking us to Half time.
Second half & Bedworth come out battling and taking a shot 2-3.Good battling from Leo. The wind took ball in making it 2-4 to Bedworth closely followed by another Bedworth goal 5-2.
The ball goes out for a throw in lands at Leo, Leo shoots scores 3-4. Bedworth beat us again 3-5. Fraser header 2 con out. Great run Corey rolling in kicked off line by Bedworth. Corner Reece. Con tackle out for corner 2 Corey cal out. Lucas off 4 Owen. Callum does some good tackling, Firefighters win a free kick for a foul. Free kick, to Corey who gets it and scores with the ball going over keepers hands 4-5. Alex takes a corner Conor falls over ball goes out, Corey throw in to Fraser who takes a shot saved by the keeper.
Owen takes a corner corner, get back in play & scores 5-5. Reece wins the ball & has a shot over goal. Fraser saved the ball just off the line. Hand ball by Bedworth result in Firefighters getting a free kick taken by Conor, ball goes out. Callum had a free kick & makes it count 6-5.
A great win todqat lads against the Top of the League team who until today were undefeated, Excellent result Well done

Firefighters get off to a good start with handy footwork by Reece Jag & Owen. Corey & Reece a double act again crossing to Jag who kicks wide of goal. Corner kick for Rugby Town, only to go out again after good defence from Firefighters. Unlucky shot at goal from Corey that hit the crossbar. Great defending by Fraser as Ruby make a strong attack on goal. Great shot on the line by Conor, then some good defending again from Fraser & Conor. Corey, like lightening runs the whole pitch with a shot just wide of the goal. A good save by Charlie, strong as ever. Rugby score making it 1-0 taking us to half time.
Second half good attack on goal from Reece & Corey with a quick attack back from Rugby. Rugby get a free kick after disputing a take by Firefighters. Another good try on goal from Corey only to go over the bar. Goal attack aagin from Corey & Jag. Another goal to Rugby after FF give them too much space. Conor concedes a penalty, which Rugby take & score, 3-0. Another goal from Rugby but it called offside. A cracking run from Corey, nutmegging the goalie & scoring 3-1. Anotehr great try from Corey resulting in a corner and a goal mouth scramble then the ball going wide. Good attacking from Firefighters with Alex having a shot but going wide. Lucas scored an own goal which if it was at the other end would have been a beauty, never mind happens to us all 4-1.

We are still waiting to see if the pojnts from this match will be given or if we will have to replay the game as the game was stopped, 22 minutes into the second half as Jack Cook challenging for a high ball fell awkwardly breaking his arm in 2 places. All the best Jack for a speedy recovery, you will be missed in the coming matches for sure.
A game of almost 2 halves, first half we passed the ball well all around the pitch with Leo & Jag in Midfield, taking shot after shot from Corey, Callum, Reece & Owen but just could not quite hit the target. Then a move from the back from Charlie to Alex to Jag up to Owen on the left & Alex continuing his run received the ball & dispatched it in the net for 1-0 to us. Alvis attacked down our right & caught our defence messing with the ball & took a shot that took a bobble on the pitch to sneak past Charlie 1-1. A change from Fraser to Lucas because of injury. Another raid by Alvis was well saved by Charlie to keep score even. Hallf time.
Second half and after a stern talking to the players, with Leo & Jag hassled Alvis into making mistakes & us getting a corner, Callum knocked over the cross & Conor forced the ball home for 2-1. Some changes were made in with Jack & Danyaal coming on & we bossed the game with Jack scoring to make it 3-1.

The boys kicked off and attack was in mind. George, Fraser, Conor & Lucas were in defence in front of Charlie, keeping Finham’s strikers at bay, while Jag & Danyaal squeezed midfield with Owen & Reece either side. We eventually broke down the right and Jag put a nice ball over for Callum to knock in 1-0 to FF. A couple of minutes before half time Finham scored making it 1-1 taking us to half time.
Second half kicked off with Luke & Reece up front with both teams battling for the win, Finham nicked a second goal against the run of play. This called for a couple of changed with Jack on for Luke, Alex on for Owen and Leo on for Danyaal, we started to be a bit more dominant and got a result with Jag scoring a lovely goal from 25 yards into the underside of the bar 2-2. The last few minutes were hectic with Ojan from Finham (a former player for Firefighters) on the left wing doing a nice job against us and feeding their striker fort a one on one shot that Charlie saved superbly, ending the game 2-2.

With a few latecomers and Danyaal’s dads car being hit on the way over the day did not start well. When play commenced we combined early to get a corner which Reece took & Jack put away in the first few minutes 1-0 to FF. With a few players absent due to school trips the team had to be rejigged and it told by half time as we were ended the half 5-1 down. Second half and a couple of changes made in positioning and we were in better form and had chance after chance at goal but only managed to convert 2 into actual goals. Corey got the ball straight from kick off and connected with the goal and Owen getting the other goal. We conceded an own goal then Rugby managed to get a further 2 goals taking us out of the cup 8-3. The score does not reflect the performance of the boys but that’s football!!. Lets concentrate on winning the league as Alex Ferguson would say.

It was a scrappy opening with early pressure from Stratford. 2 minutes in and Lucas scored but it was offside. A great goal from Jag takes FF into the lead 1-0. Stratford continue the pressure only to be blocked by Alex Fraser & Charlie. Jag has another attempt on goal not quite making it with good passing from Jordie & Corey. Corner ball from Jag to Owen who shoots wide of the goal. FF start more pressure of their own 15 minutes in and Corey hits the crossbar, 18 minutes in & Stratford also hit the bar. Stratford shoot but Charlie saves it. Alex takes the goal kick, Corey runs the field passes to Jag to Lucas back to Corey with an admiral shot on goal only to be saved. Good passing by Lucas to Reece. Reece scores 2-0. Great defending from the defence, and a great header from Alex. FF are caugh off guard and Stratford score an easy goal 2-1 taking us to half time.
2nd half FF received a penalty, Reece steps up and neatly places the ball in the back of the net 3-1. Callum takes a corner on to Jag’s head straight in the net 4-1. Leo comes on. Stratford have a corner shot but went wide but brought back in to be saved by Charlie. Corey makes a run weaving in & out of the Stratford defence and shoots wide of the goal. Conor takes a goal kick to Jack to Corey picking up the pace but the ball goes out. Jag hits the bar, shame it was not crossbar challenge. 25 minutes in and Callum score a great goal 5-1. Corey takes a shot that goes straight between the keepers legs 6-1. Just before the whistle and Jack shoots and scores 7-1. Another good win by Firefighters

The night started with a bit of a treck to get to Rugby for 5.30 but we all made it, thank you to Harj and John for helping to get all the lads there. We kicked off at 6 and 6 minutes in to the game Callum takes us in to the lead with his first goal. 14 minutes in and Admirals equalise from a lucky goal. Jag takes a shot to Corey who passes to Jordie who has a shot but the goalie catches it. Admirals score a second goal giving them the lead. A good throw in from Corey but won by Admirals who get dangerously near our goal but Fraser saves us kicking the ball out of play. Owen on the ball, takes a shot just wide of the goal. Corey make a great run passes to Jag who put it in the back of the net 26 minutes in. Charlie makes a great saves putting the ball over the crossbar. Corey has another shot only to be saved by the goalie. 2 – 2 Half Time
1 minute in of the 2nd half, Jag does a cracking kick straight to Owen who takes his change & scores 3-2. 10 minutes in and Jack gets his change (in his new boots) and it’s a goal to him 4-2. 12 minutes and it’s another Firefighters goal from Owen from a good cross from Corey 5-2. Admirals fight back making it 5-3. Reece with his fresh legs make is 6-3. Luke scores but the linesman said it was offside, others may have disagreed but lets not go there, next time Luke. 16 minutes in and Admirals are awarded a Penalty which even their Manager admitted was not a penalty, fortunately for us the ball hits the crossbar. Conor takes a goal kick George wins the ball & make a break but kicked out. Admirals have the ball and managed to get round Alex & Conor to score 5-4. Charlie saves a good corner kick. George on the ball to Jack to Corey to Callum to Owen who shoots but the keeper catches it. FF have a corner to Owen who kicks it just over the goal. Conor takes a kick that leads to a handball by Admirals giving us a free kick by Alex to Callum who scores his 2nd goal 6-4. Admirals break free and score 6-5. Corey makes a throw in Reece intercepts and scores 7-4. Some great passing by FF tonight. Admirals take another from us 7-5 and in the final minute score again 7-6. We were all glad to hear that whistle go at full time to secure our 2nd win of the season, nice to say so far we are unbeaten, let’s try and keep it that way, COME ON FIREFIGHTERS.
